Damaged Inspection Pit ‘Under the Nose’ of City Hall Becomes a Nightmare for Drivers
Since yesterday, SHAMSHYAN.com has been receiving reports from citizens who are frustrated to inform that for more than 3 days, in the center of Yerevan, on Argishti Street, just ‘under the nose’ of the City Hall, the inspection pit has become a real curse for drivers. Local residents reported, “We can’t sleep at night because drivers, unaware of this inconvenience, are having accidents. It’s merely by a stroke of luck that there are no casualties or injuries. We called the hot line of the Yerevan City Hall and the Veolia Water Company, but we received the same canned response, ‘Your call has been registered, we will come by now.’ It’s already the 3rd day, and they are still coming. It’s like they have turned into ‘Noah’s raven’. We might as well send a pigeon from behind to bring good news, and that good news would be that they come to repair the inspection pit.
Only the patrol officers of the Yerevan Police’s Patrol Service, under the command of Sergeant Harutyun Grigoryan, along with officers Nver Muradyan and Taron Antonyan, have responded to the emergency calls promptly. They are also managing traffic and directing drivers to avoid falling into the ‘quicksands’ of the damaged inspection pit.
