Tragic Incident: Rescuers Retrieve Male Body from Canal in Hovtashen Village

On December 1, a tragic incident occurred in the Ararat region. At approximately 10:30 AM, the Ararat regional police department and the Artashat police division received a report indicating that a body had been found in the main canal junction of the "Hrazdan" canal in Hovtashen village.

As reported from the scene by shamshyan.com, this information was passed on to the Ministry of Emergency Situations' 9-11 crisis management center. The head of the Ararat regional police department, Saribek Rustamyan, and the head of the Artashat police division also arrived at the scene. Additionally, a team from the Ararat regional investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia, led by director Vahe Mirzoyan, also attended the scene.

One firefighting unit from the Ministry of Emergency Situations was dispatched. Rescuers faced significant challenges but were eventually able to retrieve the male body from the canal using ropes.

The head of the Malatya police division, Andranik Meloyan, and the operational officer Alik Hakobyan also arrived at the scene. According to the preliminary conclusion by the forensic expert, no signs of violence were detected on the body.

Materials are being prepared for the case at the Artashat police division. According to initial information, the deceased was reported missing by the Malatya police division. Authorities are now working to determine the identity of the deceased.
