The US Has Encircled Russia with Military Bases and Is Stirring Hysteria Near Its Borders, Lavrov Says

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced during a meeting with participants of the Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund's annual educational program, "Dialogue for the Future," that the United States has encircled the Russian Federation with its military bases and is constantly inciting hysteria along the borders of Russia.

He added that the Russian side is ready for compromises and has repeatedly demonstrated its willingness to negotiate.

“We are accused by countries bringing enormous numbers of troops and military equipment to our borders of conducting exercises on their sovereign territory,” the head of the diplomatic department noted.

According to Lavrov, the US and its allies are introducing openly confrontational schemes in the APR designed to contain other countries.

It is worth noting that Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States announced a new security partnership, AUKUS, on September 15. Under the agreement, Australia plans to build at least eight nuclear submarines using American technology, as well as to rearm its armed forces with American cruise missiles.
