High-Ranking Officers Among Those on Downed Military Helicopter in Azerbaijan

A military helicopter that crashed in Azerbaijan had 18 individuals on board, according to Azerbaijani media reports. Out of the crew, 14 were killed, while four others are in critical condition.

Azerbaijani media have also reported the names of 13 military personnel who died in the incident, including several high-ranking officers. Among the deceased is Colonel Fizuli Javadof. Also killed was Lieutenant Colonel Emil Nazirov.

The other victims include Captain Javid Bayramli, Khayyam Aliyev, Jayhun Akhmedkhanov, Major Emil Hasanov, Elbrus Akhmedov, Murad Mammadov, Senior Lieutenants Abdula Suleymanov and Farid Nagiev, and Lieutenant Deyra Mejlunov.

The names released have not yet been officially confirmed by government authorities.
