Details Revealed by Officer from Downed Helicopter in Azerbaijan
Details have emerged regarding the military helicopter that crashed in Azerbaijan. It turns out that the helicopter had recently been overhauled. Eyewitnesses reported that the helicopter was piloted by an experienced officer, and the wind was not strong enough to cause the accident.
The surviving lieutenant colonel and captain from the State Border Service's military helicopter have shared details of the incident. According to the lieutenant colonel, the crash occurred during landing. He stated that two passengers were thrown out due to the explosion of the helicopter and they do not remember anything after that moment. He noted that the helicopter is designed to carry 24 people, and he was near the entrance to the passenger cabin, seeing nothing suspicious.
"We were heading to a training area when the accident happened; I screamed and woke up in the hospital. There was no external interference. The wind was not that strong, and we were en route to the training ground. The helicopter's warranty period had expired, and it had just been brought back from the repair facility," said the captain.
It is noteworthy that early yesterday morning, during training flights at the "Garakhanbata" aviation training ground in Azerbaijan, a military helicopter of the State Border Service crashed. As a result of the accident, there were 14 fatalities among the helicopter crew members and two injuries.
