Omicron Variant of COVID-19 Reaches Canada
The first two cases of infection with the Omicron COVID-19 variant have been confirmed in Canada. These cases were identified among travelers arriving in the country’s capital, Ottawa, from Nigeria, local authorities report, as conveyed by RIA Novosti.
Ontario today confirmed two cases of the COVID-19 'Omicron' variant in Ottawa, both found among recent arrivals from Nigeria. The Public Health Department is monitoring the infected individuals, and the patients are in isolation,” assured Ontario’s Minister of Health Christine Elliott. Her remarks are quoted in a statement posted on the regional government’s website.
