Snow, Blizzard, Precipitation: What is the Situation in the Republic?
In the Shirak and Lori regions, as well as in the Aparan, Talin, and Aragats areas of the Aragatsotn region, and in the city of Dilijan in the Tavush region, it is snowing. This information has been reported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia.
It is noted that there is a blizzard in the Jajur mountain pass of the Shirak region. The mountain passes of Spitak in the Lori region, the section near the village of Pushkino on the Vanadzor-Stepanavan highway, and the section near the village of Lusaghbyur on the Vanadzor-Gyumri highway are passable with difficulty.
The Road Department also informs that as of December 1st at 17:00, it is snowing in the regions of Ani, Artik, Ashotq, Aragats, Spitak, Vanadzor, Stepanavan, and Tashir, while rain is falling in the regions of Tumanyan and Talin. There is a blizzard in the Ashotq region.
In the Aragatsotn region, starting December 1st, the road from the “Amberd” high-altitude meteorological station to the Kar lake will be closed to visitors. Due to the risk of landslides, the road from the village of Zovuni to the Korea gorge remains temporarily closed in both directions.
All international and republican significance highways are open. To avoid accidents, incidents, and traffic jams, drivers are advised to travel with winter tires.
