New Power Plant Opened with Participation of Pashinyan

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan attended the inauguration of a new power plant in Yerevan, which has a combined cycle gas turbine capacity of 254 MW. This information was reported by the press service of the Prime Minister of Armenia.

The government leader took a tour of the power plant accompanied by Giovanni Rubini, the CEO of Renko, to familiarize himself with the completed work.

Approximately $270 million was invested in the implementation of the project. A total of 1,200 employees were involved in the construction works, and after the launch of the power plant, 50 permanent new jobs have been created.

It was noted that after the completion of the regulatory work, the power plant will supply the Armenian energy grid with the cheapest electricity produced by similar plants.

The groundbreaking ceremony of the power plant was held with the participation of Prime Minister Pashinyan on July 12, 2019.
