Is There a Split Within the Movement? Karin Tonoyan Responds
Karin Tonoyan, the founder of the 5165 party that is part of the liberation movement, stated during a meeting with journalists today that there is absolutely no split within the movement.
“If we are going down the path of unification with everyone, how can we split from the people with whom we have traveled for a week?” Tonoyan said, adding that they have never had any issues with members of the founding group during street protests.
It is noteworthy that the founding group includes the former president of the Bar Association and head of the ‘Zartonk’ party Ara Zograbyan, journalist Nairi Hokhikyan, former MP Sophia Hovsepyan, and former member of the ‘Sasna Tsrer’ group Pavlik Manukyan, among others.
According to Tonoyan, they have accomplished the first item on their agenda and sent signals that there are protests regarding border delimitation and demarcation; now they must move towards achieving Prime Minister Pashinyan's resignation.
“We are all heading towards destruction. During this time, we have realized that unity is the only alternative to prevent the collapse of Armenian statehood, as there is no governance in the country; management has failed, and Nikol Pashinyan is incapable of leading the country,” said the members of the 5165 movement.
