Vardevanyan on the Purchase of Expensive Cars and the Cost of PCR Tests

The Armenian authorities are spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on purchasing vehicles, and therefore they could also cover the costs of testing for the public. This was stated by Aram Vardevanyan, a member of the Armenia faction in the National Assembly, during a press briefing after a Constitutional Court session regarding the compliance of the Health Minister's order on vaccinations and testing with the Constitution.

He emphasized that the government and the Ministry of Health currently have all the necessary opportunities to implement the appropriate arrangements so that these expenditures can be covered by the state, as funds are available.

“One of the components we have proposed is that the expenses for testing should be borne by the state. France, Germany, and many European countries have such experience. In the initial phase, when such a process begins, the state should incur these costs, after which, depending on the results, it can consider whether it is necessary to revise the approach,” Vardevanyan noted, adding that the entire expense cannot be placed solely on the people.

He also stressed that a regulation could not be established merely by decree, requiring employers to demand proof of vaccination against coronavirus from employees or documentation proving a negative PCR test every 14 days.
