The Probability of War is High, But the Corridor Will Be Difficult: Tiran Khachatryan Comments
The former First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Tiran Khachatryan, does not rule out the possibility that the fate of Syunik may replicate that of Artsakh, reports Armlur.am.
In response to the question of whether such a thing could happen, he replied, "It is possible. If appropriate measures are not taken regarding security provision, strengthening the army, fulfilling necessary tasks, and increasing military exercises, the likelihood of war is very high."
According to him, over the past year, some specific efforts have been made in this direction, but it is certainly not enough. "We need to show that we are strong and that we are capable of responding to or countering certain actions. If this does not happen, the continuation will undoubtedly be undesirable," the general emphasized.
When asked whether Azerbaijan would receive the corridor it desires so much, he answered, "I don't think so."
