Protests Demand Government Resignation in Izmir
The Revolutionary Confederation of Trade Unions (DİSK) held another protest in the city of Izmir, Turkey, on November 25, calling for the resignation of the government. This was reported by Ermenihaber.am.
Memiş Sarı, the representative of the Aegean region of the confederation, urged all workers and officials to start a strike, noting that due to recent economic developments, workers are becoming increasingly impoverished.
During the protest, chants echoed such as “Resignation of the government,” “General strike, general resistance,” “The Justice and Development Party—grave, the people in power,” among others.
“Enough is enough, we want to survive. Unemployment, high prices, inflation, and utility costs are breaking our backs,” protested Memiş Sarı.
