First Case of New 'Most Dangerous' Coronavirus Variant Reported in Israel

A new case of infection with the coronavirus variant B.1.1.529 has been discovered in Israel. Scientists have already labeled this variant as the most dangerous among all existing strains.

According to Life.ru, referencing the Israeli Ministry of Health, the virus was found in a citizen who returned from Malawi.

“A case of infection with the variant identified in several southern African countries has been reported in an Israeli citizen who returned from Malawi. Furthermore, there are suspicions regarding two other citizens who have returned from abroad. Currently, they are in isolation, awaiting test results,” the ministry’s statement said.
