Pashinyan Has Made a Decision Regarding the Fate of Chief of General Staff Artak Davtyan

The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, has already made a decision regarding the fate of Chief of General Staff Artak Davtyan. He is expected to be relieved of his duties soon.

Discussions about Davtyan's dismissal intensified after Pashinyan dismissed Defense Minister Arshak Karapetyan on November 15 and appointed Deputy Prime Minister Suren Papikyan in his place. According to sources from Sputnik Armenia, one of the potential reasons for Davtyan's dismissal is the criminal case involving 'low-quality missiles,' which has led to the detention of former Defense Minister Davit Tonoyan.

However, this is not the only factor influencing the decision to remove the Chief of General Staff, as there is significant dissatisfaction with his performance within the military ranks.

According to our information, the government aims to appoint Davtyan's first deputy, Kamo Kochunts, as his replacement. However, it should be noted that there is also a lack of enthusiasm within the army regarding this new candidate.
