Kocharian Will Not Attend the 30th Meeting of the Armenian Fund's Board
The second President of Armenia, Robert Kocharian, has announced via his Facebook page the reasons for his decision not to participate in the upcoming 30th meeting of the 'Armenia' All-Armenian Fund's Board of Trustees, scheduled for November 27 of this year.
He stated, 'Dear compatriots, I have decided not to participate in the meeting, where the agenda includes the approval of expenditures transferred to the Government of Armenia by the Fund, which have not been validated by the auditing company.'
Kocharian referred to the establishment of a parliamentary commission to investigate the use of these funds and mentioned that he sent a letter to the chairman of the Fund's Board of Trustees, President Armen Sarkissian, proposing to postpone the discussion of that agenda item, to which he received no response. He also reached out to members of the Board of Trustees who are not representatives of the government or other state bodies with the same proposal.
'Approving an audit like this in such a manner will cause irreparable harm to the reputation and future activities of this major All-Armenian institution. There is no justification for attending an event that will damage the All-Armenian structure and the realization of our national goals,' Kocharian concluded.
