Concerns Deepened After Meeting with Prime Minister, Says Goris Deputy Mayor

After the meeting with the Prime Minister of Armenia, my concerns regarding the protection of Syunik's borders have deepened. No clear answers were provided on this issue.

Goris Deputy Mayor Karen Kocharyan stated this in an interview with 'Factinfo'. It is noteworthy that yesterday, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with the mayors of Syunik, with Goris Deputy Mayor Karen Kocharyan also in attendance.

Following the establishment of a customs post and checkpoint by Azerbaijan on the Goris-Kapan and Kapan-Jacatain sections of the interstate road between Armenia and Iran, issues have arisen regarding inter-community passenger transport, food supplies, and, in general, the free movement of citizens. This topic was discussed during the aforementioned meeting with the Prime Minister.

According to Kocharyan, it was mentioned that alternative routes are being repaired. “I attended the meeting because the situation created in Syunik is often manipulated. It is necessary to express a clear position and receive some concrete answers. I have mentioned, and I reiterate, that Arush Arushanyan's group is ready to stand by the army and fight clearly for the defense of Syunik,” said Karen Kocharyan.
