A Suspect in Espionage for Russia Arrested in Poland

The Polish Internal Security Agency has arrested a citizen suspected of espionage on behalf of Russia. This was announced by the press secretary of the Minister Coordinator of Special Services, Stanisław Żaryn.

According to Żaryn, the 66-year-old arrested individual has engaged in espionage activities in favor of the Russian intelligence agency (the Federal Security Service, FSB) and acted against the interests of the Republic of Poland. He stated that evidence and procedural actions indicate that the suspect is connected to another individual who was previously arrested by the Internal Security Agency.

The press secretary also added that the man has not admitted guilt. He has been temporarily detained for three months.

The Chief Prosecutor's Office in Poland confirmed that the operation was conducted under the instruction of the prosecutor of the Organized Crime and Corruption Department of the Warsaw District Prosecutor's Office. They also disclosed the name of the arrested individual, who is identified as Radosław S. He has been charged with “aiding in the activities of a foreign intelligence service.”
