Police Conduct Special Operation 'My Laughter in Your Ball' in Yerevan; Arrests Made
Today, on November 23, police officers from the patrol service of Yerevan conducted a special operation in the capital. According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, several citizens reported to the patrol service that an unmarked BMW 750Li and a few accompanying vehicles were violating traffic rules in various streets of the city, making unnecessary noise signals.
The operation was named 'My Laughter in Your Ball.' Under the leadership of unit commander Armen Gasparyan, deputy commander Karen Avetisyan, and platoon commander Hovhannes Manukyan, the 1st platoon of the 4th battalion investigated the directions the mentioned individuals were 'screaming' and a real chase began. The pursuit lasted nearly three hours, after which the suspects left the capital towards the Yerevan-Sevan highway with several vehicles.
Ultimately, the police discovered them at the 'Ball' restaurant and hotel complex located in the administrative area of Kotayk Province along the Yerevan-Sevan highway. During this time, the driver of the unmarked BMW contacted an employee of the 'Ball' via phone and requested that the entrance controlled by one of the remote numbers be opened, which was done. Upon arriving at the 'Ball' complex, he entered room 3, while the individuals with him parked their vehicles and went up to room 2.
They seemed to think they had outsmarted the police, but the patrol officers were on the right trail. Five individuals were taken to the Abovyan division of the police from the mentioned complex. They are: 28-year-old Serj Vardanyan, 24-year-old Petros Minasyan, 29-year-old Sargis Sargsyan, 26-year-old Volodya Muradyan, and 31-year-old M. Poghosyan.
In the courtyard of the hotel complex, a BMW X6, a Mercedes, a Toyota Camry, and the unmarked BMW were found. The latter, according to information, was driven by S. Vardanyan, who is the son of 'Chvchv Aro' known for his criminal stories, nicknamed 'Chvchvi Serzhulik.'
