Six Killed in Syunik Clashes: Defense Ministry Releases Names of Fallen Soldiers

On November 16, in the course of fighting resulting from an attack by Azerbaijani Armed Forces subdivisions on the eastern direction of Armenia, the Armenian side has reported 6 fatalities as of now.

The fallen soldiers include Senior Lieutenant Taron Jivani Sahakyan, born in 1990; contracted serviceman Junior Sergeant Meruzhan Arturi Harutyunyan, born in 1991; Private Gurgin Ashoti Sarksyan, born in 1990; Junior Sergeant Arthur Jivani Martirosyan, born in 1998; and Private Davit Helberti Amiryan, born in 1980. The identity of one more deceased soldier is still being clarified.

Intensive efforts, with the mediation and participation of the Russian side, continue regarding the return of those captured during the clashes and the search for the missing.

As of November 19 at 10:00, the situation along the Armenian-Azerbaijani border remains relatively stable and is under the control of the Armenian Armed Forces.
