Cigarette Prices Rise in Armenia
The newspaper "Zhoghovurd" reports that the price of imported cigarettes in Armenia has recently increased. Local cigarette products have also seen price hikes. According to the newspaper, some local cigarette packs have increased by 60 drams. For example, the price of the gray pack of "Ararat" cigarettes has risen by 60-70 drams; it was previously 730 drams and is now being sold for 790-800 drams. Another local "Ararat" cigarette pack has gone up from 740 drams to 790 drams. The price of imported cigarettes has increased by 10-20 drams; for instance, the price of Winston cigarettes has risen from 570 drams to 580 drams, and in some supermarkets, it is priced at 600 drams. Camel cigarettes have gone up by 5 drams, while Monte Carlo has increased by 10 drams, rising from 400 drams to 410 drams.
Additionally, it is noteworthy that price changes in the cigarette market occurred not only recently but also in October compared to September. According to the Statistical Committee of the RA, there has been a 0.5% increase in tobacco product prices in the republic in October compared to September.
