«He was brutally tortured and shot three times»: The Minister of Defense is silent, they haven't even issued a statement, says Zhanna Aleksanyan

Human rights defender Zhanna Aleksanyan's Facebook post states: “Yesterday, the circumstances of the murder of 29-year-old contract soldier Gevorg Avetyan became known: he was brutally tortured and shot three times. The investigative committee headed by Kyyarami initially classified the murder as a violation of weapon usage regulations, but after the statements of the grieving brother, they switched to their preferred theory of negligent homicide. There is no oversight, prosecutor's office! This is exactly why the Prime Minister is raising their salaries. But one question torments me: why does our public react so sharply to the torture of our soldiers by Azerbaijanis, but not to incidents like this? The brother is shocked that Armenians have treated his brother this way, but he was not prepared for the greater shock that the blatant murder would be classified as negligent homicide. The newly appointed Minister of Defense is silent; they haven't even issued a statement. One soldier more, one soldier less, it changes nothing.”
