18 Citizens Detained

Eighteen individuals have been detained from the streets of Yerevan, according to local police. It was reported that since morning, citizens had blocked several streets in Yerevan, declaring that the goal of their protest was to expel the Turks from Armenia.

The police informed NEWS.am that the detainees were apprehended for actions prescribed under Article 182 of the Administrative Offenses Code, which pertains to non-compliance with the lawful demands of police officers during the performance of their duties related to maintaining public order and security.

Prior to this, the initiators of the Liberation Movement announced their intent, stating: “Fellow countrymen, the liberation movement has begun, aimed at preventing the anti-Armenian program of border demarcation and delineation, including demanding the publication of documents submitted for signing, not allowing a corridor to be granted to the enemy, and requiring that the Armenian authorities fully arm the frontline and protect the territorial integrity of the Republic of Armenia. Our struggle is for the preservation of Armenian statehood. The security of our country is in each of our hands, from Syunik to Tavush, from Shirak to Artsakh. On November 22 at 17:00, we are gathering at Republic Square in Yerevan to stand up for our country and statehood.”
