Contract Soldier Dies, Ministry of Defense Confirms

Preliminary information indicates that a contract soldier has died due to violations of weapon handling rules at one of the military units in the Gegharkunik province. This was reported to NEWS.am by the Ministry of Defense of Armenia.

“The contract soldier, Private Gevorg Khachaturov Avetyan (born in 1992), reportedly sustained injuries on November 15 due to violations of weapon handling rules, was transferred to a hospital, and subsequently died on November 16,” the Ministry of Defense stated.
