Reports Received on Damage Caused by Brown Bears to Community Residents
Reports regarding damage caused by brown bears to community residents are under the attention of the Ministry of Environment. According to the ministry, work has been carried out during this period to find possible solutions. Studies have been conducted by the National Academy of Sciences to register the distribution and population of bears and to assess the dangers posed by them.
In the near future, the Ministry of Environment will convene an expanded discussion with the participation of interested parties to address the behavior of individual bear populations and to discuss ways to mitigate the dangers they pose to residents and their livelihoods. Due to human pressure on nature, the human-wildlife conflict has intensified recently, but any decision made must primarily stem from environmental interests.
