Peskov on NATO's Arming of Ukraine
NATO's actions in Ukraine point to a repeat of the scenario of the alliance's eastward expansion, despite the lack of announcements regarding such plans. Dmitry Peskov, spokesperson for the President of Russia, stated this according to TASS news agency.
“Russian President Vladimir Putin has reminded us of our not-so-distant past, when Russia was deceived. I am speaking in human language: Russia was promised that NATO would not advance eastward, and then it was deceived. NATO moved further east,” said the Kremlin representative.
According to him, a similar scenario is currently being observed. “We see the diversion of the alliance's military infrastructure eastward, we see the process of arming Ukraine by NATO member states, and we see NATO's provocative actions,” Peskov emphasized.
