What Has Russia Proposed? Andranik Kocharyan Responds

After reaching agreement on certain technical issues, Armenia is ready to begin the process of forming a commission in response to Russia's proposal regarding the preparatory phase of delimitation and demarcation of borders between Armenia and Azerbaijan. This was stated by Andranik Kocharyan, the Chairman of the National Assembly's Defense Committee, when addressing the question of what content the Russian proposal included.

"It’s about starting from a zero point. And Armenia has given its consent to participate in the initial stages of this work. The Prime Minister has mentioned this," said Kocharyan.

Referring to speculations that ruling party members are making demands towards Russia, Andranik Kocharyan emphasized that they are not making demands; they simply want all points of the agreement to be realized in a timely manner. "Nevertheless, our sovereign territory has been subjected to encroachment, resulting in military actions; however, our army has not allowed the adversary to gain new territorial acquisitions," he noted.

Earlier, on November 18, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that Russia had made a proposal for the preparatory phase of delimitation and demarcation, which is acceptable to the Armenian side.
