Criminal Case Launched Against Former Police Official: Details
Based on materials prepared by the Anti-Corruption Committee of the Republic of Armenia, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 314.3, Part 2 of the RA Criminal Code for the alleged crime of concealing significant amounts of property and income declaration data by individuals obliged to submit a declaration.
According to the materials of the criminal case, Arshak Hakobyan, who held the position of head of a relevant department in the RA Police as of July 1, 2017, and was a declarant official, allegedly concealed a property subject to declaration – a house with a cadastral value of over 7 million AMD – in the declarations submitted in 2017 when assuming office and in the annual declarations of that year, as well as in the declaration submitted in 2018 upon termination of his office.
Additionally, the aforementioned police official allegedly concealed and did not declare two cars, specifically the 'Mersedes-Benz GLS 500 4matik' and 'Samand Soren 1.8', which were acquired and subsequently sold under a donation agreement in the annual declaration for 2017. It has also been revealed that the wife of this official allegedly concealed data regarding significant income of around 10 million AMD obtained from leasing property in her submitted declaration.
