Arthur Martirosyan, killed in Syunik, had planned to get married next year
On November 16, junior sergeant Arthur Martirosyan was killed during an attack launched by Azerbaijan in the eastern section of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. He was born and raised in the Antaramut community of Lori province.
In an interview with 24News, the village head mentioned that Arthur Martirosyan was a kind and willing young man. He studied at the local school and then went to Mataghis to serve. After completing his service, he went abroad for work for a year, and then returned to join the "Duts" military unit as a contract soldier.
According to the village head, Arthur participated in the 44-day war and was injured but left the hospital to return to the front lines. "Arthur was the youngest in the family, he had parents, a brother, and two married sisters. He was not married, and the last time I spoke with him, he said he wanted to get married next year. I told him, 'Get married, you are already 24 years old.' The family lives in poor conditions and engages in livestock farming; they planted wheat this year. He was a smart boy who helped his parents from the age of 10 or 12," the village head recalled sadly.
