President Comments on Azerbaijani Aggressive Actions
President Armen Sarkissian participated as a speaker in a thematic discussion regarding climate change, the Covid-19 pandemic, and the new challenges arising from these issues at the Bloomberg New Economy Forum held in Singapore.
The forum brought together world leaders, heads of international organizations, and leading company executives to discuss the global impact of the pandemic, how to confront its effects, and the new opportunities that have arisen.
In his remarks, President Sarkissian emphasized that the rapidly changing world and humanity face numerous challenges and threats today, including urgent issues stemming from climate change and the Covid-19 pandemic. He underscored the necessity for collective responsibility, bold actions, and concerted efforts to find solutions, stating that the path forward lies in green technologies.
Highlighting the commitment of all countries to create a green and peaceful future, President Sarkissian lamented that there are nations that did not refrain from inhumane actions even amidst a disaster such as the pandemic. He noted that last year, during the severe phase of the pandemic, neighboring Azerbaijan unleashed a large-scale and devastating war against Artsakh, and just two days ago, Azerbaijani forces launched attacks on environmentally sensitive areas near the town of Jermuk and Lake Sevan.
Azerbaijan's aggressive actions have resulted in human casualties and have caused significant harm to the population and nature. President Sarkissian informed the participants of the discussion about Azerbaijan's provocative actions at the Armenia-Azerbaijan border and the encroachments on his country's territorial integrity.
