Ministry of Defense Issues Statement

As previously reported, on November 17, through the mediation of the Deputy Commander of the Southern Military District of the Russian Federation, Lieutenant General Rustam Muradov, a special flight transported the body of an Armenian Armed Forces serviceman, who was involved in the clashes following the Azerbaijani provocation on November 16, from Baku to Yerevan.

The identity of the serviceman has been confirmed: he was Senior Lieutenant Taron Jivani Sahakyan, born in 1990. Efforts to locate missing soldiers from the clashes, as well as the return of captives, are ongoing, and the Ministry of Defense will periodically issue updates on the progress of these efforts.

On the evening of November 17, Azerbaijani military units opened sporadic fire in certain directions along the Armenian-Azerbaijani border in the Tavush province. Responding actions successfully silenced the enemy's fire.

As of 10:00 AM on November 18, the situation along the Armenian-Azerbaijani border is relatively stable.
