The Enemy Has Withdrawn Again: What Is the Situation in Angehakot and Ishkhanasar
Life is continuing as usual; people are preoccupied with their daily chores, schools are operational, and even on days of military clashes, schools are functioning. This was stated by Marat Petrosyan, the administrative head of the Ishkhanasar community in the Sisian region, in an interview with ArmDaily.am.
“Everything is calm now, and there is nothing concerning. The enemy has withdrawn again, and we have regained our positions. Our village is located very close to our positions,” said Petrosyan.
He noted that the soldiers stand in front of them like a mountain, and they feel protected. “The community looks at the soldier today, and the soldier looks at the community. Our soldiers sit here in such a way that the relevant authorities are not needed. We help them, and they help us; I’d die for their lives,” Petrosyan added.
The community leader also mentioned that neither they nor the soldiers face transportation issues and that communication with Sisian is uninterrupted; Sisian is only 6 kilometers away from their village. The head of the Angehakot community, Armenak Markosyan, also stated that everything is calm in their locality and people are busy with their daily activities.
“The situation in the village has always been stable during wartime and generally. There is no panic at all; the school is functioning, the kindergarten is operational; in other words, we are living our daily lives,” said Markosyan.
