380 People Evacuated from Afghanistan on Putin's Orders, Including Armenian Citizens

The Russian Ministry of Defense, following an order from President Vladimir Putin, will evacuate 380 individuals from Afghanistan. This was reported by RIA Novosti.

According to the ministry's announcement, three Ilyushin Il-76 military transport aircraft have delivered humanitarian aid to Kabul airport and are currently facilitating the placement of evacuees.

108 tons of humanitarian assistance have been sent to the Afghan capital. The ministry also mentioned that, in addition to Russian citizens, evacuees include individuals from Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Ukraine, and Afghanistan. Each aircraft is equipped with medical teams and necessary medical supplies.

The previous large-scale evacuation took place in August, when Russian military personnel transported 400 citizens from Russia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan back to their homelands.

It is reminded that the Taliban had launched active operations in August, coinciding with the withdrawal of American troops, capturing several provinces and cities, including border areas. On August 15, the Taliban entered the capital, Kabul, and hours later, President Ashraf Ghani fled the country. The Taliban later announced the composition of the new government, which has since commenced its work.
