Resident of Tegh Community Discusses How to Be Cautious: 'Factinfo'
In the enlarged community of Tegh in the Syunik province, following the news of border tensions yesterday, volunteers have been on alert, prepared for any possible scenario. The army was also on standby in the positions around the villages. One resident of the community reported to 'Factinfo' that everyone was vigilant.
'If there is any escalation somewhere, there will be tension in all positions, so everyone needs to be alert. The population has been vigilant, as have the positions. At the moment, everything is normal. I just passed by the positions near yesterday's incidents—there's calm,' the resident stated.
No gunfire has been reported in the administrative area of the Tegh community, from Khuznavar to Korrnidzor. According to the resident, the tension after the 44-day war aims to promote 'corridor logic' and control the main highways. 'They probably have unresolved issues and are trying to achieve their goals, but to what extent we, the people and the government, will comply, I cannot say,' the community member expressed.
The resident remarked that the tension was expected and believes there will be similar heavy tension cases in the future. 'You need to show your teeth to the Turk. He is used to it; when you display something, he becomes compliant. But when he sees you in a weakened state, he will demand everything to create more favorable conditions for himself.'
When Armenian soldiers retreated from four combat outposts in Sisian, a new minister of defense was appointed the next day by the prime minister, who has no connection to military construction. The resident believes that more experienced individuals could have been chosen. 'I am not a military expert; I cannot say where the army is headed. Among our generals, there are many experienced generals who could lead the army more professionally; that is my opinion, but I do not know what they are thinking up there.'
