Official Baku Blames Yerevan for November 16 Incident: Yashar Aliyev

Baku is convinced that there is no alternative to the normalization of relations with Yerevan and is ready to sign a peace treaty. This was stated yesterday by Yashar Aliyev, Azerbaijan's permanent representative to the UN, as reported by TACC.

“Azerbaijan is convinced that the normalization of relations between the two countries, based on mutual recognition, sovereignty, and respect for each other's territorial integrity within internationally recognized borders, has no alternative,” Aliyev stated.

According to the ambassador, the aim of such normalization is the reconciliation and peaceful coexistence of Azerbaijan and Armenia.

He further noted that official Baku blames Yerevan for the November 16 incident, accusing the Armenian armed forces of provocation.

It is worth recalling that on November 16, around 13:00, Azerbaijani armed forces initiated another provocation on the eastern border of Armenia, shelling Armenian positions. The Armenian forces responded to prevent the enemy's advancement.
