Cement Prices Rise in Armenia: "Zhoghovurd"

According to the newspaper "Zhoghovurd", cement prices in Armenia have increased. It has become known that the price of one ton of cement has risen by 2000 drams. Builders report that the price of a 50 kg bag of cement has gone from 2500 drams to 2650 drams. In some locations, locally produced 50 kg bags of cement are being sold for 2800-3000 drams. Additionally, the price of Iranian-produced cement has also increased, rising from 2900 drams to 3000 and even 3200 drams.

Experts link the rise in cement prices not only to the increase in transportation costs but also to a surge in demand. This demand has been fueled by the government's decision to discontinue the income tax refund program in Yerevan. Following this decision, construction activity in Yerevan has significantly intensified.
