Hovik Aghazaryan: CSTO Partners Must Understand That We Have Alternative Options
The National Assembly of Armenia is currently continuing its work, as each of us is confident in our army and troops; they are doing their job of defending the homeland, and we must do our job as well. This was stated by Hovik Aghazaryan, a member of the ‘Civil Contract’ parliamentary faction, during his speech in the National Assembly today.
“We are part of the CSTO system, and none of its members can make an ‘improper’ claim against Armenia that we have not fulfilled our obligations. However, what is happening today from Azerbaijan, under the silent behavior of our CSTO partner countries, which, I apologize for my boldness, in some cases reminds me of agreements, is unacceptable. CSTO partners must understand that we have always had and still have alternative options. If our partners do not fulfill their obligations and duties, rather than us having to ask them, it falls to them to meet their responsibilities,” he said. “As a member of the National Assembly, whom many consider to be a pro-Russian politician, I will raise the question of the purpose of our further activities within the CSTO framework, if possible.”
