VIDEO. Pashinyan Explains Why He Dismissed Arshak Karapetyan
Today during a Security Council meeting, Prime Minister Pashinyan announced, “I have made a decision to dismiss Arshak Karapetyan from the position of Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia and to appoint Suren Papikyan, who is currently serving as the Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia, to this position.”
This decision was made following an analysis of the events that started unfolding yesterday. I invited Mr. Karapetyan in the morning and expressed my gratitude for his work as Minister of Defense, stating that I appreciate the work he has done; however, the current situation has led me to the conclusion that a change in the Minister of Defense is necessary.
Today, we will first hear the report from the Chief of the General Staff, Mr. Davtyan, regarding the current situation and the overall operational environment. We will also conduct an analysis of the situation and will attempt to make decisions regarding our actions aimed at ensuring the security, territorial integrity, and sovereignty of the Republic of Armenia across several directions.
