Ministry of Defense Issues Statement
As of November 17 at 10:00 AM, the situation along the eastern border of Armenia, where Azerbaijani armed forces launched a large-scale attack on Armenian positions the previous day, is relatively stable, and the ceasefire agreement is mostly being upheld.
As a result of the hostilities on November 16, the enemy has suffered up to 70 dead and wounded personnel, as well as significant losses in military equipment, including 4 armored personnel carriers (BTR), 1 Sandcat armored vehicle, and 5 motor vehicles (Kamaz, Ural, UAZ).
The Armenian side has reported 1 soldier killed and 13 soldiers taken captive. Additionally, contact has been lost with 24 servicemen during the combat operations, and their fate remains unknown at this time. Intensive efforts are underway to locate the missing soldiers.
Two combat posts have fallen under the control of the enemy. Negotiations are being conducted with the involvement of the Russian side to resolve the current situation and facilitate the return of the captured Armenian servicemen.
The Ministry of Defense will issue further statements as new information becomes available.
