Do You Imagine the Mental State of Those Boys? Do You Think They Suffer Less Than Us? – Hovsepyan
44 days of war have passed for the 18-20-year-old boys. I highlight them specifically because the older survivors returned to their families after the war...
Former My Step parliamentary member Sofia Hovsepyan wrote this on her Facebook page. “These are teenagers who had just graduated from school and were about to enter a different turmoil of life... The trial was indescribable: war, losses, feelings of danger and fear, loss of health, nightmares... The state literally ignored each soldier, whether it was health issues, psychological problems, needs, or capabilities... They stopped them at posts and are torturing these boys alive... Retreat, give up the territory... Retreat, give up the territory... Do you imagine the mental state of those boys? Do you think they suffer less than us and regret those retreats?...
Many say, ‘The weapon is in your hands, fire!’ But don’t blame them, they know they're violating orders, and they are not sure that the proud mass of society will support them in that step and not leave the soldier alone. They are not confident that anyone has compassion, they are not sure anyone remembers them (I’m not talking about family members). Yes, after the war, they were forgotten; I won't discuss the reasons because anyone can find excuses they want. No, I’m not talking about the government. It’s pointless. The people gave them a mandate to live by surrendering... Okay, but what are these boys guilty of? Can you imagine what kind of society they will live in after being discharged?”
