The Order Prescribes a Slaughter That They Are Unfit For: What Should the Ministry of Defense Do in This Situation? - Movses Hakobyan

This was stated by the former Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, General-Major Movses Hakobyan in a conversation with NEWS.am.

In response to the question of whether Armenia should appeal to the CSTO regarding the Prime Minister's statement that the Azerbaijani armed forces have infiltrated Armenian territory, Hakobyan mentioned, "I cannot answer such questions."

Hakobyan also sees no contradiction between the Ministry of Defense's statements yesterday and the Security Council's statements today. "There is no difference between yesterday's and today's statements. They wrote that the equipment did not infiltrate, but did not write that the units did not infiltrate. From that, I concluded that the units are already on the territory of the Republic of Armenia, and the statement today also says that with the support of machinery. One does not contradict the other; the fact is that the Azerbaijanis are on our territory."

What should the Ministry of Defense do in this situation when the Azerbaijani armed forces have infiltrated the territory of Armenia? "The order prescribes a slaughter that they are unfit for. If there is no resistance, they will certainly invade. This characterizes the personnel policy of today's military-political leadership. The defense of the country is not carried out by the Minister of Defense but by the citizens of the Republic of Armenia. Each person, if they work well, will resist; if not, they will not. The Commander-in-Chief is also a citizen of the Republic of Armenia, and his responsibilities are the greatest," said Movses Hakobyan.

It is worth noting that the day before, the Ministry of Defense released a statement stating: "The information circulating on social networks that Azerbaijani armored vehicles have entered Armenian territory in that border area does not correspond to reality." Meanwhile, today, the statement released by the Security Council says: "On November 14 at around 13:00, units of the Azerbaijani armed forces invaded the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia with the support of armored vehicles in one of the eastern sections of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border."
