Criminal Case Opened for Grenade Attack on NSS Employee's Home in Kotayk Province

The Kotayk regional investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia has established an investigative group, following a decision by the head of the Abovyan investigative division, Garnik Matevosyan. Based on the decision made by investigator Eduard Andreasian, who is in charge of especially important cases, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 185, Part 2 of the RA Criminal Code (deliberately destroying or damaging property resulting in significant damage).

According to Shamshyan.com, the case was opened following an explosion that occurred on the night of November 12-13 in the yard of the home of 27-year-old Arman Hambardzumyan, a resident of a village in Kotayk Province. On that date, a grenade was thrown towards Hambardzumyan's house, resulting in an explosion that damaged the windows of the house.

According to photojournalist sources, Arman Hambardzumyan serves in the State Protection Service of the National Security Service of Armenia, which is responsible for the security of high-ranking officials.
