Visits in Correctional Institutions Are Being Limited

The Correctional Service informs that changes have been made to the Government of the Republic of Armenia’s Decision No. 1834-N dated November 11, 2021. These changes amend the appendix of the Government's Decision No. 1514-N, dated September 11, 2020, regarding the quarantine imposed due to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

As of November 12, 2021, visits in the correctional institutions of the Ministry of Justice of Armenia will be limited (except for cases of using video calls).

The stated limitation does not apply to authorized individuals and bodies acting within the scope of their powers and functions, including but not limited to the visits carried out by the Human Rights Defender and their authorized representatives, members of the National Assembly of Armenia, monitoring groups, and lawyers.
