Zangezur Corridor Will Unite the Entire Turkish World: Aliyev and Erdogan Express Pride
The 8th summit of the heads of state of the Turkic Council, a cooperation union of Turkic-speaking countries, was held in Istanbul. Taking the opportunity, the President of Turkey publicly reiterated his country's support for Azerbaijan during the 44-day war. Erdogan emphasized that the outcome of the war holds great significance for the Turkic world. Revealing the true aspirations, Erdogan specifically noted that Turkey would also benefit, namely through a pathway towards economic cooperation and 'stability'. As a token of gratitude, Erdogan awarded Aliyev the highest honor of the Turkic world, prompting an emotional response from the Azerbaijani president.
Aliyev once again expressed his gratitude to the 'big brother', highly appreciating Turkey's substantial support to his country. He expressed joy in knowing that Azerbaijan is not alone, having at least one state that supports it. “It is particularly important that I received this honor from my dear brother Recep Tayyip Erdogan. From the first day to the last day of the war, we felt the support he provided us. That support truly gave us strength and inspired us because my dear brother showed that Azerbaijan is not alone in the world, and Turkey will always be by Azerbaijan’s side,” Aliyev expressed hope.
Today, the President of Azerbaijan also talked about the 'Zangezur Corridor', pointing out that its opening would connect the southeastern part of the country with Nakhchivan. “The Zangezur Corridor will unite the entire Turkish world, and it will become a link for us with Europe,” said Aliyev.
