Menua Hovsepyan: At Goris Prison, I Am Offered to Go to the Police to Be Arrested, They Want an Arrest Show

At Goris Prison, they suggested that I go to the police, be arrested, and then brought back to the detention center. It is clear that they want to stage a show. This was stated by Menua Hovsepyan, the deputy mayor of Goris, in a conversation with Tert.am. For the past two days, he has been voluntarily presenting himself at Goris Prison, but they are not accepting him.

“I have come to court; the body conducting the proceedings is the court, and they are asking me to wait, without specifying for how long. I am ready to bear the 'punishment.' For two days, I have been saying, 'arrest me,' and they are not arresting me; it's absurd, a comical situation. They want to take me away via arrest,” he said.

Menua Hovsepyan noted that he is currently waiting to see what the court will clarify and what justification will be provided to Goris Prison regarding the non-issuance of a decision. The Court of Appeals, led by Judge Sevak Hambardzumyan, has overturned the decision of the first instance court, revoked the bail, and issued a detention order against Menua Hovsepyan.
