Armenian Citizens Can Cross Goris-Kapan Road by Paying Azerbaijani Officials, Says Security Council Secretary

Azerbaijan has not fully communicated the procedures yet, but Armenian citizens will be able to pass through if they pay certain amounts to Azerbaijani officials, stated Security Council Secretary Armen Grigoryan during a press briefing, responding to a question about how Armenian citizens would proceed when reaching the section of the Goris-Kapan road where Azerbaijani customs posts are placed.

“At this moment, Azerbaijan has not fully informed about the procedure, but the logic suggests that there may be a certain fee or something involved, and citizens can pass by paying that,” he said.

According to the Secretary of the Security Council, an alternative road is ready and paved for public use. “We have an alternative road that is already constructed, meaning the Kapan-Tatev road has been completely renovated. We announced yesterday that the road is open, and it is entirely convenient for citizens to use this route,” Grigoryan added.
