Azerbaijani Prime Minister Talks About Peace Treaty with Armenia
Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov has announced that Azerbaijan is ready to normalize relations with Armenia and sign a peace treaty that will recognize the territorial integrity of both states within internationally recognized borders, Azerbaijani media reports.
"Azerbaijan is prepared to conclude a peace agreement with Armenia that will acknowledge the territorial integrity of both states within internationally recognized borders. Azerbaijan also supports the start of border delimitation and demarcation work," Asadov stated, mentioning that the peacekeeping efforts of the Russian Federation and the joint monitoring center of Russia and Turkey undoubtedly contribute to strengthening peace and security in the South Caucasus.
According to Asadov, Azerbaijan advocates for the unblocking of transport communications in the region, which will be crucial for the further development of economic relations within the South Caucasus. "This will benefit not only Azerbaijan and Armenia but also other countries in the region," he said, emphasizing that the conflict with Armenia is in the past, and that Baku supports the prompt border delimitation and demarcation between Azerbaijan and Armenia within the framework of international law.
"Azerbaijan has never claimed foreign territories, but it will not give up an inch of its own land," Asadov stated.
