Saakashvili Decides to End Hunger Strike, But Sets Condition

The former President of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, has announced that he has decided to take into account the recommendation of the European Court of Human Rights and end his hunger strike, but only if he is transferred from the Gldani prison hospital to a proper facility for recovery.

The political figure's message was read by his lawyer, Nika Gvaramia. “I have decided to take into account the calls of the Strasbourg court and Western partners to end the hunger strike on the condition that I am transferred to a proper facility,” the lawyer read Saakashvili's decision.

According to the defender, Saakashvili demands that a place be allocated for him in a clinic to ensure his safety and high-quality treatment during the recovery period.
