Will Armenia Go into Lockdown? Pashinyan Clarifies

“We should consider as vaccinated those citizens who have received both doses of the vaccine,” Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated today during a government session, noting that currently the number of vaccinated citizens stands at 263,000.

“We must continue to send the message to our citizens that the way to reduce the likelihood of death from coronavirus is vaccination; there is simply no other alternative. Our healthcare system is overburdened, people are dying, and there is one way to avoid this—vaccination,” Pashinyan emphasized, adding that there will be no lockdown.

“We need to save lives; we have the means to do so... In the spring of 2020, the whole world was paralyzed, not knowing what to do...” he remarked.
