Injuries Found on Arrested Officials of Gyumri Municipality

On the eve of the mayoral elections in Gyumri, on October 26 and 27, the head of the urban planning department, Arthur Hakobyan, and the deputy head of the illegal construction department, Hovhannes Gevorgyan, were arrested. This was reported by Aravot.am.

According to the official statement from the National Security Service (NSS), they were apprehended in connection with a criminal case involving the solicitation and acceptance of a $2000 bribe from a citizen to facilitate the donation process of one of the properties belonging to the Gyumri municipality.

The media outlet reports that during an external examination of these officials while in custody, bodily injuries—such as scars and wounds—were observed on various parts of their bodies, including the abdomen, both legs, and the occipital area of the head.
