Murder in the Victory Neighborhood

Today, on November 8, a murder took place in Yerevan. At approximately 00:40, the operational management center of the Armenian police received a report of a murder occurring in one of the houses on Noriki Street in the Victory neighborhood (commonly known as the 4th village).

According to shamshyan.com, the head of the Yerevan police department, Sevan Kocharyan, along with the operational deputy head of the department, Artur Zakaryan, and the head of the criminal investigation department, Hovhannes Aristakesyan, arrived promptly at the scene.

The operational group from the Malatia police department, led by the department head Andranik Meloyan and the operational deputy head Alik Grigoryan, also arrived quickly. Considering the degree of danger posed by the crime, the prosecutor of the Malatia-Sebastia administrative district, Davit Vekilyan, also came to the scene.

Police and investigators discovered a man's lifeless body in the kitchen of the two-story house located on that street, with blood-like traces on the floor and walls, several bloody knives, shattered dishes, and kitchen utensils. The forensic expert reported that the victim had several wounds from a sharp cutting and piercing object.

Officials have identified the deceased as 36-year-old A. Simonyan, a resident of the Kotayk region. In the kitchen, the investigative team found several bloody knives and a small measuring cup. By the investigator's order, several examinations have been commissioned, including a forensic examination of the body. According to G. Shamshyan's information, the deceased had previously been convicted of murder and had recently been released by court decision.
